Does the word "singular" mean something good or bad to you? Such as "the singular taste of..."?

Using it in some copy to connote uniqueness. Client says doesn't want us to use the word "unique" but we need to convey that for wholly new product taste that's launching. What does singular mean to you when you see or hear it?
