I messed up dying my hair blond?

I wanted to try having blond hair for a change and my hair is naturally a medium brown so I got this blond Clairol hair dye for dark blond to black hair thinking it would work but my hair is lighter at the roots and orange in some places and still brown in streaks... Is there anything I can do to fix it? I don't have the money to go to a parlor and I'd like to still try out the blond but I'll go back to brown if I have to.
