What's the point of math if computers can do it?
I'm considering majoring in math but the fact that computers can do so well bothers me (I'm speaking strictly calculus and beyond, not the more basic math). I understand that humans are still needed to interpret the data/results and build mathematical models which computers can't really do or at least not well but the computational techniques of math are just relegated to a computer with software like mathematica. This leads me to think that some of the purpose to understanding high level math is lost unless you're really interested in researching or trying to come up with wholly new branches of math (which is no easy task). So, what's the point?
