Is this something I should worry about?

I have known my boyfriend for almost two years. He doesn't believe in global warming and when we have talked about it in the past he hasn't been rude or anything, he just disagrees with me and says it doesn't exist and that trying to be more eco friendly is technically a good thing but not wholly necessary. I have always been aware of this but just now I am starting to wonder if this is something I should worry about, like maybe is it such a big thing to not have in common that it will cause problems in the future? My plan is to wait until he comes home and then ask him if in the future he would be okay if we got solar panels for our roof or something (if we were financially stable of course) and see what he says. But what do you think? Is this a big deal?
