I'm 17 and I want my tattoo removed?

My friend (also 17 years of age) bought her own tattoo kit. She had practised on herself, her mother and other friends and all the tattoos looked great, so I trusted her. I then asked her if she could give me one, and she did. The design I had asked her to do means a lot to me, and I had been wanting it for a long time but couldn't afford to get it done professionally. Unfortunately, it proved to be pretty difficult for her, and she had a bit of trouble getting it straight. The tattoo isn't terrible, but it's not perfect and I can't say I'm happy with it. (Yes, I do regret it. And yes, getting an unqualified friend to give you a tattoo is dangerous and irresponsible. I'm very aware of my mistake.) Thus, I decided that I should just get it removed using laser treatment. I can afford a couple of treatments, and since the tattoo is only an amateur tattoo (it isn't very deep) and is pretty light, I'm hoping it should be relatively easy to remove. I booked a consultation with the tattoo parlour that does laser tattoo removal for this weekend, but my main query is; will I be able to get it removed even though I'm only 17 years old? I know you have to be 18 to get a tattoo legally, but is there an age restriction for laser removal? I live in the UK.
